Inspired by my travels in Northern Thailand, this work represents a woman belonging to the Karen tribe.
The wooden board is lined with the words of the royal poet Sunthorn Phu who died in 1855, mixed with white paint. The poet's verses are taken up in the color stencil, in order to highlight the jewelry and the typical dress.
Framed in an American box, this work is ready to hang on the wall.
This work is a unique piece. The stencil frames were destroyed after use.
Made in 2018.
